20th June 2017
On Tuesday, all of Year 8 took part in a Health and Safety morning and participated in a series of workshops covering various aspects of how to keep themselves safe in different situations.
All students met representatives from the RNLI who, along with Mr Draisey, discussed their experiences of beach safety and sea rescue. They looked at the area of rail safety through a drama workshop and considered the effects of unsafe choices. Great fun was had completing practical first aid and the serious message of what to do in emergency situations was addressed. Finally, students looked at the area of internet safety, in particular, the dangers of ‘sexting’.
All of the students who took part in the morning have learnt some valuable life-skills and many said they had got a lot out of the activities.
